Scott McClellan: Anything To Sell A Book?

The most powerful leader in the world had called upon me to speak on his behalf and help restore credibility he lost amid the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, McClellan said. So I stood at the White House briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby.

Believing this individual after the Valarie Plame fiasco's dust had all but settled seems a stretch and "timing is everything," right? With all the books being written on all things political in this new century, who takes time to read them in mainstream America? Who's budget allows, save the public library?

Was McClellan just a dupe or was he patently stupid?

So many questions ... so many poorly researched opinions!

Joe Biden: Wordmaster?

There's less than 1 percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than 4 or 5 percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with, ...

I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.

You cannot go into a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts without an Indian accent.

It's remarkable what one may utter with one's foot in his mouth while one's head is up his arse? Politicians can be their own worst enemies when trying to communicate a cogent thought(s) ...

Those offended ... raise your hands!

Chris Dodd: Fire(side) Talk?

You saw it in Kansas not long ago, Dodd said, you’ve seen it in other jurisdictions here, where because we’ve got men and women in Iraq in the National Guard, we don’t have them back in these states doing the kind of jobs they can do when these tragedies occur.

Source

Another politician using his own opinion and logic to assail the current Administration's use of the National Guard in an authorized military action? While each citizen within the United States certainly is entitled to "think" as they may, unfortunately only those with access to the media have their words disseminated to the World ...

Boxer Blames Iraq War For Shortfall ...

... Sen. Barbara Boxer (D., Calif.) stated that, because of the war in Iraq, the California National Guard is experiencing a 50 percent equipment shortage, which is hampering the fire fighting effort.

Source

Depending on the type of equipment and the MOS's of the individual National Guard members in Iraq ... or anywhere else, what in the HELL does Barbara Boxer know in regard to fire fighting efforts in Southern California? A National Guard member not trained in firefighting is just another disciplined man or woman added to the chaos.

Since the All Volunteer Force evolved after the Selective Service System was ended, the National Guard was given a new set of missions within this force. Some individuals want to "have it both ways" and blame an Administration for using what Armed Forces Units are available during an authorized military action?

Another politician representing who's interests ... NOT mine.

Hillary Clinton

I have a million ideas. The country can't afford them all.

Fruedian slip or ...

For a politician who hasn't run a corner store. Hasn't run a state. Hasn't run a city. Has never run anything. And the idea that she could learn to be president, you know, as an internship just doesn't make any sense.

MITT ROMNEY (paraphrased)

A sad quality Mrs. Clinton portrays is that she must believe she may say anything and it will be accepted by the electorate? Will her selection as Democratic Presidential candidate assure a Republican victory in 2008? "Hating Bush" can only motivate so many voters for only so long ...

Fortney's Complaint?

You don’t have money to fund the war or children. But you’re going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president’s amusement.

While the First Amendment gives this individual the right to make this statement, I have to wonder what type of constituency votes this hateful individual into office ... Oh! California ... I still don't "get it!"

UPDATE: Apology

I want to apologize to my colleagues - many of whom I have offended - to the president and his family and to the troops,” Stark said on the House floor, ...

While forgiveness is a virtue that all need to practice, the potential damage of his initial statement(s) has circled the World. Is it too much to ask of politicians to temper their rhetoric when knowing that words and images now travel at the speed of light? Cultures, translations and import are now part of the audience factor.
