China: The Answer Is Blowin' In The Wind?

The global wind power boom just keeps blowing stronger for American Superconductor Corp., which has its wind power business based in Middleton.

The Devens, Mass.-based company on Tuesday announced that it has received a $450 million order from Beijing-based Sinovel Wind Corp. to provide core electrical components for 1.5-megawatt wind turbines. Shipments are expected to begin in January and extend through December 2011. The order comes on top of tens of millions of dollars of previous orders from Sinovel.

Kudos to an American based company offering high-technology to the World market! I feel it would be wonderful if the United States could follow China in adding more wind energy into our energy grid.

If "HOT AIR" and "BULLSHIT" could fuel our transportation needs, the U. S. Congress would be a viable resource.

I always enjoy the prophets of doom and gloom, especially those who opt to appear on cable/satellite's equivalent of the grocery store tabloid. Has the Government of the United States left us all turning in the wind without a rudder?

Are we all the victim of partisan politics and the vagaries of our elected officials? Is it every man/woman for himself/herself? How will this manifest itself in the coming days? Are we just ... doomed?
