While this shtick may be as old as politics itself, in the current state of affairs ... does this humor gain any traction, relieve the stress of "real" politics or just fill in media pages and dead air? In my opinion, politics is humorous in its current form without faux candidacy and the attendant waste of resources.

Pat Paulson ... He's Not!
Sorry, but retirement offends me. You don't just stop fighting the middle of a war because your legs hurt. So why do you get to stop working in the middle of your life just because your prostate hurts?
