A very emotional Brett Favre confirmed the news some Packers fans hoped they wouldn't hear: 'I am officially retiring,' the longtime quarterback said at a news conference late Thursday morning.
Speaking as a Green Bay Packer fan since the my earliest memories of football on a black and white Dumont television during the mid-1950's, Mr. Favre will be sorely missed on Fall and Winter Sundays in whatever locale I find myself! Too me, Brett Favre is a beautiful human being who just happened to excel in all things football.
